1. Acceptance of Terms
By using GrainLab (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.
2. Description of Service
GrainLab is an AI-powered style decoder. You upload a reference photo (the style you want) and your own photo (the one to transform); the service analyzes the reference's editing style, shows a breakdown, and produces an Adobe Lightroom preset (.xmp) you can download and apply to your photo. The service uses OpenAI's vision models to extract style characteristics.
3. Pricing and Payment
- Free Tier: Decode up to 3 photos per day. The quota resets every 24 hours on a rolling window. No account is required.
- Paid Pack: $3 USD adds 20 additional decodes, valid for 30 days. Same flow, same output. No subscription.
- Quota Attribution: Free-tier quota is tied to your IP address. Paid-pack unlocks are tied to a cookie on the browser that completed checkout.
- Payment Processing: Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
- No Recurring Charges: We do not bill on a schedule. Each $3 pack is a one-time transaction that expires when used or after 30 days, whichever comes first.
4. Refund Policy
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on unused or partially-used paid packs. If you're not satisfied, contact us within 7 days of purchase for a full refund.

5. Your Content
Image Rights
You must have the right to use any images you upload. This includes:
- Photos you took yourself
- Photos you have permission to use
- Stock photos with appropriate licenses
Do not upload copyrighted images without permission. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to use uploaded content.
Generated Presets
Presets generated through GrainLab are yours to use for any purpose, including commercial use. You may sell presets you create. We claim no ownership over your generated presets.
6. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Attempt to bypass rate limits or abuse the free tier
- Use automated tools to scrape or access the service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our AI prompts
- Resell access to GrainLab itself
7. Accuracy and Limitations
GrainLab uses AI to approximate the editing style of reference photos. Results are estimates and may not perfectly match the original edits because:
- AI cannot perfectly reverse-engineer all edits
- Some editing techniques cannot be captured in Lightroom presets
- Results vary based on the quality and characteristics of reference images
We do not guarantee that generated presets will exactly match reference images.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GRAINLAB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
